Welcome to Chris Noble's Africa SafariOver the next 12 months I’ll be posting regular updates on my travels (internet connections allowing).
(Picture copyright Pat Noble 2007) It was August 2006 when I first decided to travel through Africa to Cape Town. As the decision to travel has only been taken relatively recently, I’ve only had time to plan logistics, equipment and to learn the basics of how to support myself and the vehicle. To date, I’ve not spent a great deal of time researching the sights along the way, only the route. For me this is really about the journey. That’s not to say I’m not interested in seeing some of the most incredible sights on the planet – it’s just they’re not the main reason for the trip. One major uncontrollable factor affecting my departure is the weather, before starting my research, I must say I was rather naive about the nuances of African weather, it didn’t help that half way thorough my planning I decided to travel to Cape Town through the Eastern route rather than the West… My journey started on the 31st January 2007. |
